How to Use the VersaMag Tripod

The VersaMag Tripod uses Magnetic Attachment Technology to hold your phone securely in place. To make sure it attaches perfectly and safely, follow the instructions below based on your device type. 📱 iPhone 12 and Newer (with MagSafe) These iPhones come with a built-in MagSafe magnetic ring, which allows for a perfect connection with the VersaMag tripod. ✅ Best Setup: • Use your iPhone without a case for the strongest hold. 🧩 Using a Case? • Make sure your case is MagSafe-compatible (it has a visible white ring inside or on the back). • If your case does not have a MagSafe ring, the VersaMag will not attach properly. 📸 Example of a MagSafe-compatible case: 📲 Older iPhones and Android Devices These phones do not have an internal magnetic ring, so you’ll need to use the included magnetic ring that comes with your VersaMag tripod. 🛠 How to Apply the Magnetic Ring: 1. Clean the back of your phone case with alcohol wipe. 2. Stick the magnetic ring on the outside of your case for the strongest magnetic hold. 3. Make sure to center the ring where your phone’s center of gravity is located. ⚠️ You can stick the magnetic ring inside your case, but the magnetic grip will be weaker. For best performance, we don’t recommend this. ✅ You’re Ready to Use VersaMag Once your magnetic ring or MagSafe connection is set, simply place your phone onto the VersaMag mount — it will snap into place securely and be ready for hands-free content creation, video calls, or selfies! 🔧 Still having trouble? Check if: • Your case is blocking the magnetic connection • The magnetic ring is off-center • You’re using a thick case that weakens the magnet

Magnetic tips Pulls Out When Disconnecting Cable or Adapte

Symptoms: - When you disconnect the cable/adapter, the magnetic pin comes out of your device along with it - Pin stays attached to the cable instead of staying in the device - Happens frequently or every time you disconnect This issue applies to: - All Magnilink magnetic cables (MAXX, PRO, ULTRA, 360 PRO, 360 MAXX, 180 ULTRA) - All Magbridge adapters (Magbridge ULTRA, Magbridge PRO) Why This Happens The magnetic pin is designed to stay in your device when you disconnect the cable. If it's pulling out instead, there are two common causes: 1. Debris in Your Device's Port Lint, dust, and pocket debris can accumulate inside your device's USB-C, Lightning, or Micro-USB port. This debris: - Creates friction between the pin and the port walls - Prevents the pin from sitting properly - Makes the pin "stick" to the cable when disconnecting 2. Worn or Loose Device Port If your device's charging port has become loose or damaged from repeated use: - The port doesn't grip the pin housing firmly - The magnetic connection to the cable becomes stronger than the port's grip - The pin pulls out when you disconnect Solutions Step 1: Clean Your Device's Charging Port This solves the issue in 80% of cases. 1. Power off your device completely 2. Use a wooden toothpick (never metal - it can damage contacts) 3. Gently scrape along the inside walls of the port 4. Remove any debris you find - you may be surprised how much is in there! 5. Alternative: Use compressed air to blow out loose debris Pro tip: Shine a flashlight into the port to see how much debris is actually in there before and after cleaning. Step 2: Use Proper Disconnection Technique Don't pull straight out! Instead: 1. Grip the adapter/cable head (not the cable itself) 2. Gently rock or "break" the connection at a slight angle 3. Pull at 15-30 degrees rather than straight out 4. This creates a "breaking" motion that releases the magnetic connection before the pin Think of it like opening a door: You don't pull straight on the handle, you use leverage. Step 3: Verify Pin Installation Make sure the magnetic pin is fully seated in your device: 1. Remove the pin from your device 2. Clean both the pin and the port (see Step 1) 3. Reinsert the pin - you should feel or hear a subtle click 4. The pin should sit flush with your device's port opening Step 4: Check Pin Condition Inspect the magnetic pin itself: - Check for damage - bent contacts, cracks, or deformation - Check for debris on the pin itself - Clean the pin with a dry cloth if needed Prevention Tips Keep this from happening in the future: ✅ Always disconnect at an angle (not straight out) ✅ Clean your device ports monthly (especially if you keep your phone in pockets/bags) ✅ Rotate the pin quarterly to prevent wear patterns ✅ Use a case or port cover when not charging to prevent debris buildup ✅ Avoid over-tightening - the magnetic connection is designed to release easily If Problem Persists If you've tried all these steps and the pin still pulls out: 1. Your device's port may be damaged - This is a device hardware issue, not a cable issue. You may need to have your device's port repaired. 2. Contact us for a replacement pin - If the pin housing itself is damaged or defective, we'll replace it under warranty. Email help@magnilink.co with: - Your order number - Photos of the pin and your device's port - Description of what you've tried
